I am an experienced programmer writer and write C#, JavaScript (NodeJS), and Python. I’m familiar with the major frameworks and libraries such as ASP.NET(C#); JQuery and AngularJS (JavaScript); and Django, CherryPy, Flask (Python). I’ve documented and developed RESTful APIs using OpenAPI/Swagger and ODATA standards. I’ve worked with cloud development creating applications and sites in Azure and AWS.
I can research, interview subject matter experts, work with developers and engineers, and author content as a stand-alone document or in documentation formats consumable by your software, such as WebHTML Help, XHTML, or CHM files.
My experience:
I have produced documentation for a software developer audience including technical reference documentation for services and Business Automation Systems, Service Oriented Architectures, software design patterns, API documentation, and software requirement specifications. I have been working in Agile shops for the last ten years. I am familiar with the challenges of fitting documentation work into sprints and various forms of rapid development.
In addition, have produced a range of customer facing documentation such as manuals, Application Programming Interface (API)s, Software Development Kits (SDKS), “how to” sheets, UI text, online and HTML help, white papers, and technical diagrams.
I have done work for software companies such as Nintex, Microsoft, and for eCommerce companies such as Expedia.com, University of Phoenix, and Nordstrom.com. I have also worked with medical research and equipment at companies such as Fred Hutchinson, Caradigm, and Siemens Ultrasound.
I am familiar with UML, BMPN, AP Style, The Chicago Manual of Style, and the Microsoft Manual of Style.
I have created documents using Atlassian Confluence, Sharepoint, MadCap Flare, Adobe CS (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, GoLive), FrameMaker, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Visio. I have also created hand-rolled solutions using XML, XSLT, and created documentation APIs that deliver JSON payloads.
